Denver Digital offers four levels of scanning that have been specifically designed to meet your output objectives.
Level I Scans are an excellent choice for Web site design, PowerPoint presentations and prints up to 5 X 7.5. The files are globally cleaned and color corrected. The scanning process automatically crops 4%-5% on all 4 sides.
Level II Scans are performed at a higher resolution and can be used for print sizes up to 11 X 16. The files are spot cleaned in Adobe Photoshop to retain sharpness. Density and color are globally adjusted to match or improve on the original. Guide print matching is not available with this service.
Level III Scans offers the highest level of quality and resolution for large format photographic printing. Images are scanned on our ICG-360, which utilizes state of the art hardware, optics and software technology for commercial level drum scanners. Images are scanned at 16 bit to retain the subtle gradients of your film. Images are adjusted and returned in 8 bit mode.
Pro Scans In addition to a Level III Scan, Pro Level services include custom cropping, dodging, burning, spot color adjustments and minor restoration. If a guide print is provided, we will use it as a reference. Images are adjusted and returned in 8 bit mode.

Level III Scanning
Our technicians are very skilled in combining this technology with their years of experience and training to resolve the most subtle shadow, highlight and color details. The ICG-360 utilizes Photo Multiplier Tubes, (PMT Technology) to accomplish this analysis. PMT technology is far superior to standard Charged Coupled Devices (CCD) found in consumer level scanners. Images are scanned at 16 bit to ensure smooth tone transitions. Based on the film type, various ICC profiles are applied to the scanned image to assist the PMT’s with color accuracy.
Slides are removed from their mounts to capture the full image. All film formats are cleaned and fluid mounted to the drum. Fluid mounting is a technique that enhances drum scanners ability to capture the full color spectrum and sharpness of the film. Prior to burning the scanned image to CD, the scans are spot cleaned in Adobe Photoshop by a color technician and fine tuned for color accuracy.
